Nivelamento Online is the subject of an article published in the XIII Seminar on Electronic Games, Education, and Communication at UNEB
25 de September de 2019Abstract
The lack of technological solutions in the higher education market, combined with the demands of educational guidelines in this area, such as personalized learning, adjustment of training to the current technological reality, and reduction of dropout rates, has impacted the creation of different products that are not always able to assess and improve (customize) student learning. Thus, Ni.O, Nivelamento Online, emerges—a online game aimed at assisting basic mathematics learning in higher education. It consists of a question and answer system for web and mobile platforms, with videos, tips, missions, progression system, rewards, and ranking, aiming to improve engagement and, consequently, the performance of the student player throughout question resolution. The game is portable, aids learning, provides challenges, and interactivity. The objective of this work was to present a game whose game design, content division, and learning assessment system allow for the personalized assessment and improvement of the player’s learning.
